Premier Squash League at the Northumberland Club

Squash of the highest level will be gracing Newcastle on a monthly basis after a successful bid for a joint Newcastle University/Northumberland Club team was accepted by the Premier Squash League.

The PSL is the strongest team league in the world containing most of the world’s top professionals. The NUNC team will consist mainly of touring pros with opportunities for Newcastle University students and some of our best local players.

The team are pleased to announce their two newest signings in Cameron Pilley (World ranked 21, record holder for the fastest squash ball ever hit at 177mph, double gold medalist at Commonwealth Games) and Alan Clyne (World ranked 36, World Doubles champion).

The home matches will be hosted by the Northumberland Club who will be selling tickets in due course. Northumbria’s juniors will now have the chance to see the world’s best players on their doorstep on a regular basis mixing it with local players they know and train with. It really is an exciting time for squash in the area!
