Hexham Squash Club had a number of entrants in the County Junior closed competitions this year. We had representatives in the Girls U13 and U15 and Boys U11.
Annabelle Satow had a strong start in the Girls U13 winning 3-0 against Libby Foster; however, she found Rebecca Grogan too strong in the semi-final going down 3-1. In a close fought final match against Emily King she just missed out on 3rd spot.
Tom Jepson started as joint favourite for the Boys U11. He had two good wins to meet top seed Ollie Forster in the Final. Despite having beaten Ollie in the past, on this occasion Tom was unable to find his top form.
Annie Anderson and Josie Burdon entered the Girls U15. Annie just lost out in a very close 3-2 match against Naomi Appleby. Josie had a first round loss to eventual finalist Aanya Hamilton; however, she had a good run in the Plate competition, beating Olivia Natrass and Eve Hardie to reach the Plate Final. In a tight match against Katie Barker, the second game proved crucial which went to Katie 16-14 who went on to win 3-1.
